DIXON CEMETERY

Located on Old Perryville Road from Decaturville, turn right after passing Thomas Broadway's house, pass the Mt. Lebanon Community Center, graveyard is to the rear of the John Vise home, about 4 miles from Decaturville. Broken rocks, no fence, poor condition. This cemetery was indexed by Margarett Alexander on December 28, 1975. She noted "at least 9 rocks with no names." (Mr. Grady Dixon, grandson of Wallace Jr. states there are 12 graves.) Thanks to Miss Sarah Vise for helping me find this graveyard.

This graveyard was cleaned up, fenced, rocks repaired and a CSA marker placed in 1977 by Mr. Grady Dixon of Decaturville.

 

Dixon, Wallace Jr., Dec. 22, 1835-Nov. 30, 1894, "Age 58 yrs 11 mos 8 days" (has a CSA marker)

Dixon, Infant, no dates, "Son of W. & Dela Dixon" "Our darling baby"

Dixon, Wallace Sr., Jan. 1, 1790-May 4, 1874 (Mr. Dixon came from Maryland to Dickson County. Was in furnace work.)
