HOPEWELL CEMETERY
Hopewell Cemetery is on Mousetail Road about 5 miles east of Parsons. It is indicated on the U.S.G.S. Jeanette quadrangle (1986). David Donahue recorded this cemetery December 26, 1996 and checked and updated it March 28, 2002.
An earlier record of this cemetery was made by Doris Scott and Blanche Tuten on April 28, 1978. Their record appears in Decatur County, Tennessee Cemetery Records published by the Captain Nathaniel A. Wesson Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Parsons, Tennessee, 1984, pp. 264-273. They noted "at least 13 unmarked graves." This is referred to as the "UDC transcription" in notes below.
