BARNETT CEMETERY

Barnett Cemetery is located 2½ miles southwest of Parsons, Take 412 west. Turn left or south on Wilkinstown Road, drive 3/4 mile and turn right on Leeburn Harris Rd. and left in Barnett Cem. Lane. Drive to the house at the end of the lane. The cemetery is about 100 yards behind the house to the southwest. The cemetery is fenced and in 2004 was overgrown. This is the most likely burial place for Houston family patriarch John Lucky Houston and his wife Virginia Graham.

David Donahue recorded Barnett Cemetery July 8, 2004. Margarett Alexander and Bobbie Bartholomew recorded Barnett Cemetery April 14, 1976. Their record appears in Decatur County, Tennessee Cemetery Records, published by the Captain Nathaniel A. Wesson Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Parsons, Tennessee, 1984, p. 30. Alexander and Bartholomew estimated 40 unmarked graves in 1976.
