This database contains cemetery surveys and transcriptions from a number of counties across the state of Tennessee. It contains all cemeteries in the US Geological Survey for Tennessee as well as several cemeteries that are not identified by the USGS. This is a work in progress and is the result of the work of many, many volunteers. Your feedback on this effort and suggestions for improvements are welcomed.

In order to visit this cemetery you must go by the office of the Graf Tech Office in Lawrenceburg. They are happy to let you into the cemetery, but a guide will lead you in. No one is allowed to visit the cemetery without the guide. With the guide you will be led about a mile off the road & through wheat fields, so you will need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to safely get to the cemetery. Also, be sure to bring some Off bug repellant because chiggers are very thick there. The cemetery is not well maintained, but it is in a shaded area so it is not very overgrown. There are only about 4 stones that are readable & some others that may or may not be stones. Also, there may be some stones that have been thrown behind a fence that is out of reach.

The burial and cemetery information contained in the TNGenNet Cemetery Database is taken from a variety of sources. Most of it comes from actual surveys of cemetery headstones. Some is taken from obituaries published in newspapers, death certificates and other sources. All of these sources including headstones are subject to error. The transcription process introduces unavoidable human error. The researcher is urged to consult the original source for the most accurate information.
