CLARK CEMETERY

Located near Atwood, Tennessee. To reach this cemetery drive south over Church Street and Highway 220 from Atwood about 2.3 miles to House Church Road; turn east and drive about 1.7 miles on the latter road and turn into the driveway of the shop on the Billy Joe Powers' home-place and walk east about .2 mile into the nearby woods to this cemetery. Although numerous black folk were buried here years ago none have tombstones. This was an old white cemetery in which neighborhood blacks sometimes buried their dead.

The death certificate of PAUL WINSTEAD, September 7, 1896-January 24, 1919 indicates that he was buried here.
