FUNNYHOW, ADAMS, BOWLES
I'm trying to find info on my ancestor Rebecca FUNNYHOW. She marriedThomas Jefferson ADAMS. Her father was a "subchief" of Chief Bowelsof Nacgodoches, Texas according to family stories. I'm not sure whata subchief was or is. Any help with that would also be appreciated. Rebecca and Jefferson lived and died in East Texas. I'm interestedin any information on the Cherokee tribe in Nacogdoches, TX. Theywere very active in the Texas Revolution. I believe Rebecca may nothave been born in Texas and Jefferson was probably born in Tennessee. Family lore says he was a friend of Sam Houston which would explainhis move to Texas. He did fight with Houston. I've been told thatthe East Texas tribe may not be registered with the Nation.
