Forgus MILLIGAN (born circa 1795) and his wife Sarah settled inChristian County, Illinois in 1831; they came from Tennessee. Sarahis shown on Census records as having been born in Tennessee in 1806. Forgus died before 1850. They had at least children: Mary (marriedMontgomery GOODRICH); Martha; Margaret (married Joseph WIDICK); DavidJ. (married Rachel HUNTER); James S.; Amemda (Amanda?) and possiblyWilliam. I am researching the David J. Milligan line. Please note that another Forgus Milligan of about the same age as theone in Christian County settled in Perry County, Illinois also fromTennessee. This family claims they are descendants of David Milliganof Iredell Co., North Carolina. There is probably a connection;cousins? to the Christian County line.
