PILE

PILE. "Coonrod" was the patriarch of the Fentress Co. TN Pilefamily. I am trying to trace his migration from NC, and possiblebirth in VA. Would like to contact Aaron Pile who has done someresearch on this family, and John Pile, possibly of Overton Co., whohas done research on the early toll roads built by Coonrod Pile. Orange Co. NC land records indicate there may have been two "ConradPiles" - a "Sr. with a wife Margaret", and a "Jr." Were theyfather/son or uncle/nephew? My direct ancestors (Jacob, son ofCoonrod>Johnson>Jesse W.) claim the family was "of German descent" -this from biographies written in the 1880's. Would like to compareand share research.

MANLY, WILLIAMS, WALLACE, WYNNS

Searching for the parents of my 4th great grandmother, Martha W. aka"Patsy". Listed as the consort of Rev. John MANLY on her tombstonein Henry Co., Tennessee. She and John left Stewart Co. around 1820and were among the first settlers in Henry Co. She was born about1791 (possibly in Anson Co., NC as was John) and died on 12 Feb 1822.I believe the families were in Montgomery Co., TN for a time beforecoming to Stewart. Martha and John married about 1811 or 1812(likely Stewart Co). They named their first son William CharlesManly. The Manly migration seems to coincide with the migration ofseveral families including possible "W" families WALLACE, WILLIAMSand WYNNS. Also HOGAN, ATKINS and LILLY. No luck yet in finding herparents. I've been searching for some time. Hoping someone mightknow where Martha fits in with her Tennessee or North Carolinafamily. I'm writing a Manley history book for an upcoming Manleyfamily reunion (Oct. 17). But I need Martha's family!Thank you,Kathy
