Middle Tennessee Pre-1796 Queries
March, 1998
Archibald Overton Dill was rumored to have been born in Smith County
about 1828-1830. He later died in the Civil War in an Army hospital
I am told. Is there any attainable document available to support any
of this?

Trying to Locate a James Burrel MOORE b. 1835 in Lawrence Co., Tn. He
was married to Tennessee HOLLIS. She was b.in 1838 in La. Co., Tn.

Is there anyone working on the Duke ALLEN line? He was born in 1790,
Greenville District, South Carolina. He died in Jackson County, Tenn.
in the year1882. He served in the War of 1812. His wife's name was
Sarah Langford. She was born 1795 and died 1882. If anyone could

Looking for any info on John Wright or Stephen Wright (father). John
married the daughter of Anderson Smith. John's sister Sarah married
the son of Anderson Smith, Vincent. They would have been in
Tennessee before 1820. Stephen Wright's wife may have been a Baker.
John Wright was born 1798, perhaps in Tennessee. The family is
believed to have come from North Carolina. ANY info greatly
cherished.

My Grandfather, ORVILLE RICE, came to
Rogersville, Tenn in the earily1800's as a merchant. He found marble
in the hills and built aMarble Hall. Marble Hall was torn down in

Henry Burton resided in McNairy Co,from at least 1830until
mid-1840's. I would like information on any Burton, or Hawkinsof this
region. Mary E. Burton born1829 in McNairy Co. married DruryHaywood

from Wm E. Elmore. In1836 he bought more land from George
