I am looking for the Richardson Families that settled the EastTennessee Area. By 1817, David Richardson was an elected Sheriff forCampbell County, TN. Where did he come from? JOHNS

I am looking for information about my Cherokee ancestor. He was saidto have been from Tennessee, forced to march on Trail of Tears,escaped and made his way up river, to what is now Sistersville, WVA. He was taken in by a family, the "Johns" and married one of theirdaughters(Jane Johns) and took her last name, he was called JohnJohns. He had at least 5 children, one of which was my great-greatgrandmother, Sarah Jane Johns(who later married Paul Florence). Hisfour sons where said to have travelled out to California during theGold Rush and settled around San Francisco. ANy help, or links tothe descendants of these folks would be much appreciated.

I am researching James SEVERS. He was born 1788 in TN. He enlisted inBlountville, Sullivan County, TN. The 1820 Posey, County, IN censuslists hime there. WILLIAM SMITH stated on his Revolutionary War Pension applicationthat he was born in Lunenburg Co., VA, in 1762. He was living in theWautaga Settlement when he fought under John and Valentine Sevier,and others. He was 16 years old and living with his widowed mother(name not given) during the time of his service. I believe he mayhave married there to a PHOEBE COX. He received a North CarolinaLand Grant for Tennessee land. He may have had a daughter born therebefore 1790. Would like information about his possible parents. Helater moved into Rutherford, Davidson and settled in Lincoln Co., TNwhere he died in 1839 and where his probate is recorded. He wasreferred to as Major. Would appreciate any help. Thanks.
