CROCKETT CEMETERY:
On Billy Wood Farm, about 200 yards off Old Hickman-Troy Rd in Mt. Ararat
Community.
This cemetery contained the remains of and uncle, aunt
and cousin of the famous Davy Crockett
Submitted by a descendant, Phillip Senn
the tombstone is unable to be read, due to being on its side
and
covered with a large tree root.
Archibald W. Crockett (Archie Crockett is the inscription)
May 30,1800 - November 28, 1865
Ellen (Weathers) Crockett (Ellen Crockett is the inscription)
October 3, 1808 - September 16, 1879
The son's name, according to my mother is Rolla (spelling?)
That is all of the information I have concerning him. If the tree is ever
up-rooted, I will seek to get the other information at that time. Due to the
fact that it is on protected property, I cannot cut the tree root to gather
that information.
The adjacent land owner is maintaining the cemetery and has it looking very
presentable.
