With sadness, I am sending this E-mail to you about the death of Jesse Powell.

Jesse had been sick with a tremendous amount of suffering since undergoing back surgery on October 13, and suffering many complications.  He had been in and out of hospitals and the nursing home since then.

I was able to be at the visitation on Monday and the funeral service on Tuesday.  The minister made this very special comment about Jesse among many that he made.  He said that Will Rogers said that he never met a man he didn't like and he said that no man ever met Jesse Powell that didn't like him.   Jesse always put everyone else before himself even when he physically did not feel like it.

Unseen, unheard but always near,
Still loved, still missed, still ever dear.
