December 19, 1935Benjamin Brasel, 80, Spanish American War veteran, died in Veteran's hospital at Johnson City Sunday morning. Mr. Brasel is survived by six children, Mrs. D. A. McPeters, Harriman, Mrs. Walter McPeters, Strawberry Plains; Mrs. Jack Wilson Rockwood, Mrs. Harry Kreis, Wartburg, Blaine Brasel, Rockwood, Ray Brasel, Oakdale; 29 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Mr. Brasel was a member of the Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at his home church, Liberty, Tuesday at 10 o'clock. Burial was in Union burying ground near Wartburg wher Mr. Brasel made his home.

Five Generations---
There were five generations of BRASELS who attended a family reuinon on Aug. 14 at Frozen Head Park. The oldest member was Blaine Brasel of Rockwood, who will celebrate is 99th birthday Dec. 11. He has 10 children, 37 grandchildren 70 great-grandchildren and 31 great-great grandchildren. His wife Callie Ann Griffith Brasel, died seven years ago. In the front row, oldest daughter and Blaine, back row, Greg Scott of Oliver Springs, his great-great-granddson, and Millard Scott, Oliver Springs, his oldest great- grandchild.
