Theodore Frank McCallister
 Civil War Soldier



Theodore enlisted as a private in Company A, 49th Tennessee Infantry, CSA, at Clarksville on November 29, 1861.  He was captured with his unit at Fort Donalson, Tennessee, February 16, 1862.  He was sent to Camp Douglas (near Chicago, Illinois) as a Prisoner of War, then sent to Vicksburg, Mississippi to be exchanged, September 20, 1862.  His regiment was reorganized September 27, 1862.  In October, 1862, this company became Company G, Bailey’s Consolidated Infantry Regiment.  In October, 1862, Theodore was absent from his unit, sick at Camp Moore, Louisiana.  On March 1, 1863, he transferred to Company A, 3rd Texas Cavalry.  There is no further record of his military service.
