MONTGOMERY COUNTY TENNESSEE
WAR RECORDS
Forbes
Bivouac was an association of Confederate Veterans who resided in the
Clarksville area. The first members
"registered" January 30, 1888, and the last around 1915.
Over the years there were 281 members. Forbes
Bivouac was
one of many local organizations affiliated through the United
Confederate
Veterans.
In 1977, a roster
of members
was published in The Montgomery County
Genealogical Journal,
published by Ann Evans Alley. The
source of the information was a notebook, "Contributed by William H.
Shelton
of
Clarksville, Tennessee. The original
notebook belonged to Mr.
Shelton's
father-in-law, Collier
Goodlett, Sr. of Clarksville, Tenn."
The information
in the
notebook varies from entry to entry, but generally
includes the following:

Not all
information is
complete for each entry. A few are

blank. The entries are in order by date of
registration, with a serial
number assigned to each
entry. The serial number may have been
a member
number.
