<>Coke L “Pete” Hughes Jr., 52, died Thursday at Fort Campbell Army Hospital. He was a resident of 113 Airport Road and retired from the U.S. Army.
<>

Mr. Hughes was a member of St. John's Methodist Church in Char­lotte, N.C., and a member of the American Legion.

<> Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at McReynolds-Nave Chapel with the Rev. William Warmath officiat­ing. Burial will follow at Ft. Donel­son National Cemetery in Dover with full military honors.

<>Mr. Hughes was born in Wilming­ton, N.C., on Sept. 29, 1929, . the son of Anna Shipley Hughes and the late Colie Laverne Hughes Sr.

<>In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Hilda Long Hughes of Clarksville: three sons, Coke L. Hughes Ill of Mt. Holly, N.C., and Greg S. Hughes and Mark A. Hughes, both of Clarksville: one brother, Raymond Hughes of Char­lotte, N.C.: and three sisters, De­lores Carter of Richmond, Va., Betty Thomason of Houston, Texas, and Colleen Chappell of Albany, Ga.

Pallbearers will be James C. Krepps Jr., William Lumpkin, Rob­ert Christoffer Sr., Wilford Colon Jr.. Joseph Belson and Cecil Ferrell.
