Chesley Coleman Herndon was born in Clarksville, TN, on Aug. 26, 1886, and lived there during his boyhood.  His father,  Capt. Thomas Herndon was a leading citizen of Clarksville.   A. K. Coleman, was a leader in the Blooming .Grove Community of Montgomery County, west of Clarksville.  Thomas and Laura Coleman Herndon and A. K. and Frances M. Coleman's obituaries appear in the Montgomery County, TN, Genealogy website.  All persons listed in the following lived part or all of their lives in Montgomery County except Arch Trawick, husband of Sarah Kate Herndon .
