Obituary of
John Wyatt
August 16, 1978


 
Funeral for John Wyatt of Palmyra will be conducted Thursday at 4p.m. in the Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. T.W. Mayhew and Rev. Charles Armstead officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

He died Tuesday after a short illness at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He was born in Palmyra May 8, 1912.

Wyatt, 66, was a farmer, a tobacco buyer for the American Snuff Company, Division of Conwood Corp. a former school board member, Montgomery County Highway Commissioner and a director of the Farm Bureau.

He is survived by his wife. Elizabeth Allen Wyatt; three sons, Lucian Lowe Wyatt,. Palmyra; John Wyatt Jr.; and Bill Wyatt of Clarksvllle; one daughter. Mrs. L. U. Norman, Nashville; two brothers, Henry Wyatt and Robert Wyatt or Clarksvllle; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Robert T. Wyatt. R.T. Wyatt III, Ewing Taylor, Bobby Powers, Sid Johnson, David Ussery,  Mike Byrd, Mike Taylor, David Taylor, Stuart Stapp and Steven Stapp.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Antioch United Methodist Church memorial fund. Wyatt was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church.
