Sweetwater Flier Killed was U-T Honor Graduate.

SWEETWATER, Feb. 11--William Gordon Noblitt, 23 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. L.B. Noblitt of Sweetwater, was killed in a plane crash early Thursday while in night flying training at George Field, Lawrenceville, Ill., relatives have been notified.  He had been in training for pilot duty for several months.

He was a graduate of Sweetwater High School and later attended the University of Tennessee, where he graduated with high honors in 1940.  He was a member of the Baptist Church of Galax, Va., where he was employed in war work before entering the Army Air Corps Feb. 1, 1943.  He was married Aug. 30, 1941, at Winchester, Tenn., to Miss Billie Clark of Winchester.  Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by one sister, Mary Ruth Noblitt of Sweetwater.  The body is being brought to Sweetwater.
