CPL. R.H. SELVIDGE

Funeral services for Cpl. Richard H. Selvidge, former Sweetwater High School student and News-Sentinel carrier who was killed in Italy, will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow in Chattanooga.

Cpl. Selvidge entered the Army in December, 1940, and was killed in action in March 1944.  He was 19 at the time of his death.  He was the son of W.T. Selvidge, Route 2. Fountain City, and Hattie Selvidge, Rossville, Ga.  Burial will be in National Cemetery in Chattanooga.

SELVIDGE, Richard H.  The remains of Richard H. Selvidge arrived in Chattanooga Thursday morning.  He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Hattie Selvidge, Rossville; father, W.T. Selvidge, Knoxville; three brothers, William W. Selvidge, Charles Austin Selvidge and Carl T. "Tiny" Selvidge, Rossville; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. T.E. Reynolds, Knoxville, Tenn.  Funeral serves will be held at 1 o'clock Monday from the Chapel of the National Funeral Home, with Revs. A.C. Marshall and W.F. Hefflin conducting.  Burial will be in National Cemetery.  The body will remain at the funeral home until the hour of service.  Pallbearers will be Gordon "Boots" Payne, Ray L. Haskins, Harold North, Bill North, Harold Hall and Bill Bowman.
