Southard & wife Sarah N.F. formerly Cunningham, nonresidents.  Jesse Cunningham died testate in Monroe Co. in 1859 leaving widow Mary C. who survived him about 10 yrs. and lived with the Cravens during that time, and sons Complainants W.G.E. and James R. and five daughters, Charlotte E.M. Marshall (the Marshalls moved West), Caroline E.W. Cravens wife of R. Cravens, Margaret J.S. or J.G. who in 1868 is still Cunningham, Sara N.F., and Harriet M.J.W. who has since marrried W.M. Farris.  At time of Will, W.G.E. was in China and returned to Tenn about 1865.  James R. Cunningham was Gdn. for the Renfros.  He was 53 in 1881 and says he took care of Father 4 yrs after Will was made, and his mother lived at the Cravens but Wm. G.E. paid for it.  Cravens of Chattanooga.  Receipt dated 13 Nov 1880, Lookout Mt., from W.M. & Harriet M.J.W. Farriss.  Receipt 1868, Midway, to W.G.E. Cunningham from R. & C.E.W. Craven and Magg. J.G. Cunningham for amount bequeathed to them by father Jesse, and also for $60 for enclosing 1/2 of graves of grandfather and mother the other 1/2 being chargeable to the children of our Grandfather except $10 paid by Mrs. Sharlotty McSpadden.

No.828) Filed 11 Nov 1881. B.F. Isley, Gdn. of Charles E. Zachary vs Edgar Benson.  On 10 Jun 1872 F.P. Hansard conveyed land to Fannie J. Isley for life and at her death to Charles E. Zachary who was born 2 Noc 1871.  Fannie J. died 23 Apr 1873. In May 1874 Mrs. E.F. Isley was app. Gdn. to Chas. E.  In Jan 1875 Isaac Benson (Major Benson) adopted Charles E. and changed his name to Edgar Benson.  Then Major Benson lost his money and has not helped to support Charles or Edgar.  Mrs. E.F. Isley left Monroe Co. in 1881 and now lives (1884) in Knoxville with her son, and Edgar is her grandson.

Trew vs John Trew and Cross Bill.   Original Bill was dismissed.  Judge grants Martha a divorce from bed and board for two years and she have custody of children minors.  Married Roane Co. some 26 yrs. ago and moved to Monroe Co. some 13 yrs. ago.  She is the mother of 14 children and has been married nearly 27 yrs. 3 of children are dead and the 11 living are: Daniel J. 24, John W. 20, Nancy C. 18, Joseph N. 21, Margaret E. 17, Polly Ann 15, Lucinda 13, Amanda A. 11, Charles M. 9, Martha 8, James F. 6.  She denies that she ever committed adultery as he charges and she says that he is trying to get divorce so that he can marry one Ann Vanzandt.

Fowler all of Sevier Co.  Mary E. is mother of Wm. and R.C.  Wm. Fowler's wife is a grandchild of Samuel's wife.  Miss Lavinia Karnes says Samuel Henderson is her stepgrandfather and Wm. Fowler is her bro-in-law.  Just names: C.T. Solomon, Trinity Mills, Texas and Mattie Solomon, Texas.  As part of deal for land, tombstones were to be erected to graves of Samuel Henderson's wife, children, and Wm. Fowler's mother-in-law who was a daughter of Samuel Henderson's wife (5 stones). Letter from Wm. Fowler, Henry's Cross Roads to "Grandpa" Samuel Henderson says Orlena sends love to all and mentions Uncle Will.  Death of Samuel Henderson admitted in Court 3 Dec 1883 and his heirs, all of Texas; 1. Wm. Henderson with whom Sam'l lived in Jack Co. 2. Nancy Mitchell who has one child 3. Isabella wife of Thomas Simpson 4. Jefferson 5. Delphia wife of Alexander Hanna 6.
