MOUNT LEBANON CUMBERLAND PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH CEMETERY Location: one and one-half miles north-east of the town of Sweetwater, Tenn. on what is now the Loomis Farm. This church and cemetery were established in the early part of the 19th century, and according to W. B. Lenoir, in his "History of Sweetwater Valley", published in 1916, was moved, about 1854 to a location in Sweetwater. On June 11, 1982, Dick Woods and Ralph Mitchell visited the site and found the following marked graves: JOHNSTON, Josiah K., 10 February, 1805; 12 December, 1861 Clarissa, 23 April, 1811; 9 April, 1864; wife of Josiah K. Sue E., 15 December, 1845; 8 August, 1862; Daughter of Josiah K. and Clarissa SNEED Nancy P., 3 April, 1838; 31 December, 1858; daughter of Josiah K. Johnston and Clarissa Johnston; and wife of William E. Sneed; she had son William E. Sneed, according to W. B. Lenoir. The above grave markers were fallen from the bases; there were several other masonry bases, but no tombstones; and several graves marked with field stones and no inscriptions. See W. B. Lenoir's book, pages 163 and 179 for further information on this church and cemetery. Lenoir records the same graves listed above, and no others, as of 1915.
