Under the act of 1818 Maximillian Rector and Burgess Witt drew pensions in McMinn CO.  The sixth census of 1840 shows that there were eighteen pensioners in the county. Many of these men moved into the county as soon as the territory was acquired from the  Cherokees and are buried there.
