CRITTENDEN'S FORK
BAPTIST CHURCH & SCHOOL
1872

This church was named for James Madison Crittenden who gave the ground for this building.
It was organized in 1872 being a log structure with a dirt floor.  It was completely lighted by candles, and had hand hewn seats.  It was used for a number of years as a school.

Reverend Charles Eaton was the first pastor.  This church was considered to be the strongest rural church in the county.

Crittenden's Fork was later to become Goodsprings Baptist Church  in 1881 when a frame building was erected using oil lamps on the present site.  It was used as a school until about 1923
Or when the Goodsprings School was built at the present Community Center.

Locations: Crittedens'  Fork Baptist Church sat behind the present Goodsprings Baptist Church
where the present pastorium is  (on the north east corner of county roads 660 & 650.)
