JOHNSON

JOHNSON, MAHALEY born 1833 in North Carolina, married Mote Johnson in Cherokee County N.C., they moved to McMinn County Tennessee, Mahaley and Mote had five sons, she and Mote are buried in the Conosaga Cemetery in McMinn County. WALKER

Can anyone help me identify the Reverand John B. WALKER and wife Cahterine born in the 1840s, who are buried in the Double Springs Cemetery in, I believe, McMinn County, about 20 miles or so from Athens Tennessee. I believe these people may be my Grand parents. If anyone can tell me anything about them and their children it would be a great help. My Father was John B. WALKER (Jr) born Jan. 20, 1866, supposedly in Sevier County Tennessee. He died in Cherokee County NC in November 1940. I would greatly appreciate any assistance. Thank you.

MORGAN, WINKLE

DODSON

My Jesse Dodson was the son of Jesse Sr. and grandson of Lazarus. I believe that they are found in Deed Book H (2) 11 Sep 1826 in McMinn Co. Jesse is not Rev.Jesse or his son. My Jesse may have been in the Eastanelle Church in 1830-40, 1840 census of Polk Co. His mother may have been Mary Stubblefield Dodson. Jr. is in TX 1850. Thanks.

There is a Dodson cemetery in McMinn County with only 2 children buried in it. They were the children of Thomas and Elizabeth Jordan Dodson. I am looking for any information on the Dodson family, Thomas and Elizabeth Jordan Dodson who were married in Tennessee on January 28,1852 but I can't find where. Any information on either the Dodson or the Jordan family would be helpful. Elizabeth's birthdate was 11-2-1832.

COX, SPRIGMORE, MONTIETH

Searching for descendants of John and Mary "Polly" (SPRIGMORE) COX. They are buried in the Old Salem Cemetery in McMinn County, TN. DAVIS

I am searching for my gggrandfather who was born in McMinn county around 1830-1840. His name is Pinkney DAVIS. He enlisted in the Union army in1863 in Warren, AR. Does any one know anything about this man or his descendants. His son John P. married Mary Costner in Cleveland County NC, and a census record shows he was born in NC, and I am guessing around 1850. TONEY

I am searching for my G-G-Grandmother's ancestors. Cynthia Minerva Toney was born in 1834 in TN. I wonder if it could be McMinn Co., because we were told she was a full-blooded Cherokee and I know this county was formerly known as "Indian Lands". She married Asa Ellis Roberts from nearby Roane Co., TN. They settled in Jefferson Co., IL. I am looking for clues for her parents. Any response would be greatly appreciated.
