THURMAN, MILLER, WOOD

I'm trying to find the parents/siblings of my g-g-g-grandfather, Wintford T. THURMAN (Winford or Winton) born 1844 supposedly in Warren Co, TN, maybe White Co, TN. The last record I have is an 1850 Warren Co, TN census showing Winford at age 5 in with a Nancy THURMAN age 45, Miller THURMAN age 17, Sarah S. THURMAN age 3. He married first America MILLER abt. 1871 and second Josephine WOOD, abt. 1874. In 1870 and 1880 I found them in Van Buren Co, TN. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

MCCLATCHEY/MCCLATCHEY

ISO John MCCLATCHEY/MCCLATCHY II, b. 1769 Iredell Co, NC, arrived ca. 1820 McMinn Co, TN; with 2nd wife Elizabeth PATTON and their children, Adolphus Patton MCCLATCHY, Mary Ann Mallory MCCLATCHY, (Wylie) Jarrett MCCLATCHY. Died and buried 1842?, McClatchy Cemetery, near Athens, TN. I suspect he was buried on the family estate on Eastanolle Creek, where he built Sweetbria Hill (later called Holly Hill). He also built a sawmill, marble works, forge, tannery, and store. I have extensive (but not complete) information about this family and am willing to swap.

HEART,HART,LAWSON,STOUT,WARREN

Looking for the family of John HEART (HART), who was actually a white settlor from Roane Co., TN, was a commander of part of Andrew Jackson's Tennesee Volunteers, and was killed at the Battle of Horseshoe Bend, March 27, 1814. His son, also named John, came to McMinn Co., as a youth and founded one of McMinn county's oldest families. We know that John (the son, b.1789, SC) was in Roane Co., in 1810 and at least through 1819. He then shows up next in McMinn Co. in the 1830 Census. Any help on this family would be appreciated.

OWEN, TILLISON, COLLIER

In the town of Calhoun, McMinn Co. there is an old two story frame building with a front porch and a balcony on the second story across the front and both sides of the building. It looks as though it could have been a hotel at one time. Currently it is being used for storage by a furniture manufacturer, woodworker etc. as many wood items were stored on the balcony and front porch in May of 1997. I am interested in knowing the lot number for that building as it would appear on the original town plan of Calhoun. Thank you Charles M. Owen
