A Tennessee Historical Commission plaque "CARRIGER'S LANDING" now stands in the Hunter Community of Carter County documenting the CARRIGER family's mark on early Carter County history. Gottfried and Anna Margaratha Anspach CARRIGER had the following children: Nicholas, Michael, John, Elizabeth, Godfrey, Jr. and Christian. Descendants later spread across the State of Tennessee. Grandchildren migrated into Green County, Illinois and Sonoma County, California.

My grandfather was William Thomas CROCKETT, born August 17, 1873 in Mc Minn Co and moved to Runnels Co, Texas. His father and mother were Thomas Jefferson Crockett and Elvina (sp?) Taylor. His brothers were Horace, Charles, John, Reuel Blaine, Samuel, and Robert. His sisters were Emma and Magnolia. I am interested in finding any info that might exist which confirms that the WYATT's or STUBBLEFIELD's were living in McMinn County especially around 1940's. Each family would have migrated from Grainger, Claiborne, or Hawkins. I know that my great-grandfather, Hardy R.
