Rufus Harvey Blackwell, age 15, enlisted in Nathan Bedford Forrest's Brigade, Co. B, 9 Battalion Cavalry. He served for only about a year before the war ended. He married Jane Caughron Roberts 19 Sept
1876 in Columbia. They had no children. He was a stock dealer in Hohenloe, died 2 June 1928, and is buried in Roberts Church Cemetary, Roberts Bend, TN. His record is in Confederate Service Records, NAM268, roll 42.
