The following is the last will and testament of John HILL Deceased "Maury County November 3rd. day 1835.  I John Hill being weak in body and having my recollection as well as I have for Twelve months, do make this my last will and testament, and first I will all my just debts bepaid out of my Estate, Secondly I will to my beloved wife Nancy HILL My lands horses, Cows, Sheep, and all my Stock, farming Utensils and four Negros.  one woman named Rebecca one girl Dorcas one named Juay, and one named Robin.  And the interest of one thousand Dollars that is in the hands of Charles P Young. And David Looney. during her widowhood or Natural life, My oldest son Wyatt B. Hill, I have given to the nort of seven hundred dollars, that is all of my estate I will him ever to have, My daughter Ava MITCHELL My son Stephen A. HILL and Moses G. HILL have an Equal part after one hundred twenty five dollars apiece is taken out.  I will this be all they have untill my younger children are made Eaqual with them.
I will Susanna & Sally ARNOLD daughters of my Daughter Elinor ARNOLD that the two shall have an Equal part with one of my children at my wifes death. after one hundred dollars is taken out, I will to my son William H. HILL the mare bridle and saddle allready givin being worth Seventy dollars.  And when he marrys or needs his bed & what them that has left us has had being the worth of one hundred and Twnety five dollars that he have it out of my estate.  And to have an Equal part after the same is taken out. And this be all he has untill my younger chilldren are made equal.  I will to my daughter Roda one Bureau one bed and stead and furniture. And other property, now, to the amount of one hundred and Twenty five dollars.  An and Eaqual part at the division with those that has had the same.
I will all I give her now and at the division to her During this life and after to the heirs of her body, & should she die I will That not any of the property fall into John L. FOWLERS hands, and this be all she has untill the younger cildren are made Eaqueal with her I will also at the death of my wife. The $1000 above named and all of my estate of every kind be sold and Eaqually Divided among all my children.  Except my son Wyatt as described above.  I will my son John HILL Doctor F. HILL and Clabourn HILL be sent to school to read, Wright and cypher to rule of three if possible and when they became of age or marry be made Eaqual with those that has left us. Moreover I will that Thomas T. ARNOLD be never more a resider at my house.  I will also that my wife Nancy HILL be Executive and William D. EWING Ececutor of my estate. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the date above written. Intestem before assigned.

I John HILL being weak in body but of sound mind and memory do make this Codicil to my last will and testament the one thousand dollars above mentioned my last will and testament I have taken out of the hands of Charles P. YOUNG and David LOONEY and eight hundred dollars in the hands of John STEPHENS Thomas NIX and James ELLIOTT the interest of which is to be disposed in the same way that the same thousand dollars was.  In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal the date above written.
