McLane grant for twenty eight acres in Lincoln Co., Tennessee

OF TENNESSEE-No. 5065
To all to
whom these presents shall come--greetings
KNOW YE, That,
for and in consideration of the sum of twelve & 1/2 cents per acre, paid into the office of the
Entry-Taker of Lincoln county, and entered on the 7th day of July 1824
pursuant to the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of said
state, passed on the twentysecond day of November, one thousand eight hundred
and twenty-three, by No. 475
there is granted by the State of Tennessee, unto Jese
McLane
a certain Tract or Parcel of LAND, containing Twenty eight
acres
by survey bearing date the 23d day of September 1824
lying in said county,
on the head of the middle fork of Cane Creek and bounded as
follows, to wit: Beginning at a sugar
tree , the South East Corner of Widow Whitsett's 50 acres. Running thence South six poles to a stake,
thence East 25 poles to a stake, thence North six poles to a sugar tree stump,
McAdams North West cornerof his 60 acre tract, thence East with McAdams' North
boundary line 79 poles to an Ash, his South East corner, thence North with the
West boundary line of the tract said
McLane now lives on 33 poles to a Sugar tree stump in the south boundary
line of a 50 acre tract in the name of
said McLane, thence West with the South boundary line of said 50 acre tract 82
poles to the South West corner thereof, a Buckeye, thence North with the West
line of said 50 acre tract 48 poles to a Sugar tree, the South East cornerof a
Seven acre tract in the name of said McLane, thence West with the South line of
said seven acre tract 22 poles, the South West corner thereof, a Lynn and two
Buckeyes in the East line of the widow Whitsetts' 50 acres, thence South with
Widow Whitsett's line 81 poles to the Beginning.
With the hereditaments and appurtenances. To HAVE and to HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of LAND, with its
appurtenances, to the said Jese McLane
and his heirs forever.

WILLIAM CARROLL, Governor of the State of Tennessee hath hereunto set
his hand and caused the Great Seal of the State to be affixed, at Nashville, on
the 15th day of January in
the year of our lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven, and of the
independence of the United States, the fifty first.
