Phillip Whitsett, Drummer in NC Continental line, 1000 acres

 

STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA

No. 2386       Know ye that we have granted unto Phillip Whitsett, Drummer in the Continental line of said state, One thousand acres of land in our County of Tennessee on the South side of Cumberland River having the upper (????) of a Survey made for James Dixon and Harold Wells, beginning at a Maple tree (????) on the River, Running West with their line four hundred and twenty poles to a Dogwood, then South three hundred and thirty poles to a stake, thence East five hundred and Eighty poles to Cumberland River, then __(??)__ the River with its meanders to the Beginning.  To hold to the said Whitsett, his heirs and assigns forever.  Date:  31st December 1793.
