MAHALEY JANE5 FISHER was born 1858, and died 1931. 

She married TOM S. BEATTY, son of ABRAHAM ABRAM and MARY CULVER.  He was born July 28, 1854, and died May 08, 1927 in South Berlin, Marshall County, Tenn..

 

Notes for MAHALEY JANE FISHER:

Mahaley Jane Fisher was a  ggranddaughter of Frederick Fisher,  who fought in the Revolutionary War.

She married Tom Beatty and was the mother of Terry (Uterry ) Beatty.

 

Notes for TOM S. BEATTY:

   Tom Beatty was married before he married Mahaley Jane Fisher, but we don't know the name of his first wife. Children from his first marriage were Dave( Uncle Dave, whom Clint remembers and attended his funeral), Abe, ( killed in a knife fight, unmarried ), Vene, and Nan. One of the girls married a Pigg and the other a Bond; it is not known which was which. Clint remembers an Aunt Frone of this family.

 UTERRY6 BEATTY, b. May 09, 1885; d. February 01, 1935, South Berlin, Marshall County, Tenn.; m. MARTHA ANNE WEBB, May 23, 1915, Marshall Co. Tn.; b. November 05, 1898; d. March 28, 1963, Leonard Hospital, Lewisburg, Tenn.

 

Notes for UTERRY BEATTY:

Clint's memories of his father are vague as he was only five years old  when  Terry Beatty died. It is believed that he was a woodsman, cutting cedar and hickory from area woods for sale in Lewisburg for firewood and etc. He did some small farming, enough to keep the family in food and clothing.

Terry suffered what was believed to be a stroke  and lived a couple days after

he was stricken. He died at their South Berlin home and is buried at Liggett-

Andrews Cemetery in Marshall Co.

 

 

Notes for MARTHA ANNE WEBB:

Martha was born a twin to Mary.  It is believed they were born in East Tenn. She

was  educated to "about the 5th grade", met and married  her first husband and father of her children in Marshall Co.  She cooked at South Berlin School  after the children's father died. She met and married Lish Hayes  in 1937. Later she worked at General Shoe which became Genesco Shoe Corp.

She was a member of South Berlin Presbyterian Church.

She died of a heart attack at  Mar. 28, 1963. She is buried at Liggett-Andrews Cemetery in Marshall County.

 

MATTIE PEARL BEATTY, b. 1900; d. 1965, Marshall Co. Tenn.; m. R. C. RONE.

 

Notes for MATTIE PEARL BEATTY:

Mattie Pearl is buried in Welch Cemetery in S. Berlin Community. She and Claude Rone had no children.

 

GERTIE BEATTY, b. 1894; d. 1960, Marshall Co. Tenn.; m. MITT HILLIARD; b. 1878; d. 1936, Marshall Co. Tenn..

 

Notes for GERTIE BEATTY:

Buried at Welch Cemetery, S. Berlin Community in Marshall Co., Tenn. She and Mitt Hilliard had no children.

 

JOHN D. BEATTY, b. 1888; d. 1951, Marshall Co. Tenn.; m. EMMA LOU TINNELL; b. 1903; d. 1986, Marshall Co. Tenn..

GEORGE BEATTY, m. UNKNOWN.

 

Notes for GEORGE BEATTY:

George died at a young age after his only child, Lillie Mae was born. His widow remarried a Tidwell and they had one son, Clarence.

 

ERVIN BEATTY, b. 1891.

 

Notes for ERVIN BEATTY:

"Erv." was killed in WWI and is buried in Liggett-Andrews Cemetery in Marshall Co. He never married.

He married ANGELINA GARRETT.  She was born in Tenn..
