             Her husband, Thomas Ebaneezer Cummings, was killed at the Battle of Jonesboro, GA

             on 1 Sep 1864. Thomas was a captain and company commander in the 47^th TN INF, CSA

             Newton Jasper Smiley served as a 1^st LT in Company G, 32^nd TN INF, CSA.  Later he

             served as Trustee of Marshall County.  He and his wife, Catherine Hall, are buried in the

             Cannon Cemetery in Belfast,  Marshall County, Tenn.
