John Blair of Guilford County, North Carolina and some of his Descendants

Notes:  James Blair & Sarah Cunningham had one daughter, Mary Blair, who m.

             John Endsley.  They are both buried at Round Hill Cemetery, Marshall

             County, Tennessee. 

             

             Sarah Cunningham (Blair) married 2nd, John L. Lowry.  He died in

             Abbeville County, SC around 1806.  Sarah Cunningham, twice widowed,

             Accompanied her extended family to Tennessee.  Sarah Cunningham

             ( 7 Feb 1750-10 Nov 1837) is buried at Round Hill Cemetery.

 

             Mattie Blair who married William Cunningham may have lived for a time

             And possibly died in nearby Bedford County, Tennessee where her

             Husband, William made application for his RW pension.  The "Blair book"

             wrongfully identified this William Cunningham as another William Cunningham

             in Blount County TN.  For correct identification, see William Cunningham RW

             pension application # S.3249 filed in Bedford County TN 9 May 1833.

             Mary Blair and her husband James Leeper (28 Aug 1743-14 Apr 1811)

             are both buried at Round Hill Cemetery.  James Leeper is reported to

              have been the first person buried at Round Hill Cemetery.

 

             Jane Blair married first James Endsley.  He died before Aug 1777 in

             Surry County, North Carolina.  She married second, John C. Cummings

             before 9 Feb 1779 in Surry County, North Carolina.  Twice widowed when

             she accompanied her extended Endsley/Cummings/Lowry family to TN.

             She is buried at Round Hill Cemetery.
