Will of Samuel Harris

I Samuel Harris of Marion County, Tenn, do make and publish this my last will and testament, hereby,
revoking all former wills by me made at any time.
1st.- I direct that all my just debts, including my funeral expenses and expenses of administration, be
paid by my executor.
2nd.- I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved wife, Mary C. Harris, One Thousand Dollars ($1000.00) I
give, devise and bequeath to my son M. F. Harris, One Thousand Dollars ($1000.00), I give devise and
bequeath to my son J. B. Harris One Thousand Dollars ($1000.00), I give, devise and bequeath to my Stepson
E. E. Rogers Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), I give devise and bequeath to my granddaughter Henry Ellen
Harris, the child of my deceased son Henry C. Harris, the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1000.00)
This last above mentioned sum of one thousand dollars is to be paid by my Executor Wm Lay as trustee who
shall hold said sum of one thousand dollars in trust for my grand-daughter Henry [sic- error, she was Mary] Ellen Harris, keeping
the sum loaned on interest which amount shall not be paid to her, with the interest, until she becomes
twenty one years of age, or until she marries and in event the said Mary Ellen Harris should die before I
do, or should she die before she becomes the age of twenty one or before she marries, then the one
thousand dollars herein willed to her, is to go to my sons M. F. Harris & J. B. Harris, equally.
Should my beloved wife, Mary C. Harris, die before I do, the one thousand dollars, herein bequeath to her
shall go to my sons M. F.Harris & J. B. Harris equally.
3rd- I give devise and bequeath the balance of my estate, of every kind and character, to my sons M. F.
Harris & J. B. Harris equally.
4th- I hereby nominate and appoint my son, M. F. Harris, sole executor of this my last will and testament.

The following will was read over to the said Samuel Harris in our presence and signed by him, as, and for,
his last will and testament in the presence of us, the undersigned, who, at his request and in his
presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names hereto as attesting witness the day
and date above written.
