David,

Pass along the message that there is some historical info on file at the Jackson-Madison County Library. However, most of the early records are now in Cincinnati (see below). Some history at Madison County families ("Friedlob").

Dear Mr. Bostick,

I'm so sorry to see the long line of people that you have had to go through just to get to us. I hope it hasn't disillusioned you regarding your search.

We do have some records of B'nai Israel. We have "synagogue records, membership lists, biographical sketches, and genealogical information, 1860-1960" (that is the title of the collection). It is about 350-400 pages of information. Just scanning through it I saw numerous references to the Felsenthal and Friedlob families scattered throughout. It might be of interest to you since it includes the lists of organizations and activities that congregants took part in, as well as having some genealogical information.

I do not know if you live in our area, but it might be a good option to visit us if at all possible. We are open Monday-Friday (except holidays), 9-5. If you cannot visit us you could request to have copies made of these records. We charge $0.20 per page. Unfortunately we do not have the staff or the time to allow us to pull out just the pages that pertain to certain families.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Christine A. Crandall
