Pa (Perry) used to tell stories about when his family made the trip from Virginia to
Tennessee. One story was about them having to stop to make 3 crops before they reached
Tennessee. Another story was about one of their milkcows and how it kept coming in without
any milk in the evenings. Someone watched when it was time for them to come in from grazing.
The cow stopped near a cave, a big snake crawled out of the cave and sucked all the milk from
the cow. They killed the snake, so needless to say, they had milk after that.
