My great grandmother was Martha Carolyn MCDONALD. Her MCDONALD
lineage goes back 5 or 6 generations to Edinburgh, VA. The 1st to
arrive from Scotland prior to the Revolution was Randolph. His
son was Magnus. Family stories say that Flora McDonald (savior of
Bonnie Prince Charlie), while not a direct ancestor, was related.

My great grandfather was Henry Clay RAGLAND from Macon Co. His
father was Reuben Lanzo RAGLAND, also from Macon Co. He fought
for the North in the Civil War, and was shot throught the ankles
at the Battle of Shiloh, needing crutches the rest of his life.

I have a copy of a Tax List that has Mason Co. TN indicated. I
believe this could be Macon Co TN. There is an Alexander McIntire
listed with a 8/21/1790 Tax List Date. Does anyone know this
Alexander MCINTIRE? I would like to exchange date with those
studying McIntire in this general area.

I am seeking information on my great great great grandmother,
who was Cherokee. Her maiden name was FARLEY and she married a
CORNWELL(I am sorry, but I do not know their first names). They
had at least two children. One, my great great grandmother, was
named Sallie. She was, I am told, born in Macon County. I have
found her name on the 1900 census for after she married. She
married James Isom MEADOR. The other child that I know of was
named Garfield. He married a woman named Nettie. They had at
least two children, both girls, Eugene and Hassie. Any
information would be appreciated.

I need information on Witcher-Chitwood Cemetery. It was on
College Street, Next to the Old School. I know the school burned
years ago, and half of the cemetery was pushed of the hillside.
Today, I found no trace of it. Was I in the wrong place, or has
it been moved to make room for the factory, or what? Someone from

There is an error on the printed transcription of the 1860
Macon Co., TN census. Lydia Ray Cooper WILSON, (1822-1891) [dau.
of Elizabeth BRANDON and William Jordan WILSON], should be
identified as the widow of William KERLEY. In Carroll Co., TN
Lydia and William KERLEY had two children: Jackson D. KERLEY
(b.ca 1842) and Elizabeth M. KERLEY (b.ca 1844). By 1850, Lydia
KERLEY was a widow. She married in Macon Co. Aaron YORK, a
widower, 15 Dec. 1853. Aaron YORK was previously married to
Jerusha KNIGHT; their children were: James, Rhoda Matilda,
Marquis, Martha J., Charlotta, and Richard. Lydia and Aaron
YORK's children were: William S. YORK, Kindred J. YORK, Lacey S.
YORK, and Leroy C. YORK. On the 1870 census, Aaron YORK and his
family live in HH#22 in the 6th District. Nearby at HH#25, is
Jackson D. KERLEY, not KERBY (Lydia YORK's oldest son), with
Rachel S. KERLEY and a baby, Amanda M.J.. Does anyone know what
happened to Jackson D. KERLEY? Can anyone identify Rachel Susan

I am searching for William Wallace Washington WILSON (b. 18
Dec 1833) to William Jordan WILSON and Sarah PATTERSON. He first
lived with his parents in Macon County and Carroll County TN. In
1860, is he in Allen County, KY? In 1870, he is in Macon, Co., TN
with a wife Josephine EAST and a son, Enoch George WILSON (b. Nov
1870, KY). Later, I am told, they had a second son, Timothy
WILSON (b. Feb 1875) and I found them at Puncheon in Allen Co.,
KY on the 1900 Census. Can anyone identify Josephine EAST, his
wife? Was he married previously? Did he live in Allen Co., KY in
1860? The census was so poor, there were many parts I could not

above Turner's Station. His name was Lazerus BELT. The hollow
used to be called the Lazerus HOLLOW. My father and one Dick
DORRIS found the old man where they left him. I think they buried
him there."......... Does anyone know when this was written?

migrated to Macon/Sumner County, TN, sometime prior to 1816 when
tax records indicate he owned property on Goose Creek. Married to
Catherine _______? abt 1816-24, and had several children. Edmond
migrated fom Macon, TN, to Wayne County, IL, in the early 1850's.

Did Robert Samuel Decatur WILSON, born (24 June 1824 p. Macon Co.)to William Jordan WILSON (1793-1864) and Elizabeth BRANDON (1794-1824), marry Polly PATTERSON? Was Polly PATTERSON related to George PATTERSON (1771-1848)? Are George WILSON, Francis WILSON, and Tennessee WILSON the children of Polly PATTERSON and Robert Samuel Decatur WILSON? Did they move to Carroll Co., TN with William Jordan WILSON and his second wife, Sarah PATTERSON?
In a Macon Co. court suit, April 1889, the following are named
as heirs of Sarah Patterson WILSON (wife of William Jordan
WILSON): Samuel DISON, Elizabeth Ellen DISON; Allen TOSH,
________ TOSH; Harriet COOK, Mary COOK, Alice COOK; Jordan ROARK,
Margaret Ellen ROARK, and John ROARK. Where are these
grandchildren in 1889? Who are the parents of these grandchildren

CO.TN. Sampson Williams Fitzgerald married Nancy A. Kirby in
