Prater Cemetery
From the intersection of Highway 11 and highway 321 in Lenoir city, turn East on Highway 11 toward Knoxville. First road turn to the right for one block to Martel Road. Turn left on Martel Rd for approximately 3 miles to a railroad underpass. On the other side of the underpass the road forks. Continue south on Beals Chapel Road for about 6 miles until it dead ends. The cemetery is on the right on the property of Dr Lynn Massingill. The cemetery had fallen into neglect until 1999 when a troup of boy Scouts under the supervision of Brenda Sellers, a descendant, took it over as a project. It is now in good repair.
