Loudon County is located in East Tennessee and was formed in 1870 from parts of Roane, Monroe, and Blount Counties. Because of its close proximity to the Great Smoky Mountains and its many lakes and rivers, Loudon County is commonly referred to as the "Lakeway to the Smokies."
