Desire contact with descendants/researchers on the families of James Clift ALLEN Sr. (ca 1809-aft 1870) and his wife Elizabeth GOTCHER (ca 1822-aft 1870). This family was listed in 1850, 1860, and 1870 census of Hamilton Co TN. What happened to their children. The oldest child was James Clift Allen Jr. (1847-1920) who married Minerva Jane ELDER (1847-1934) in 1866 in Hamilton Co TN. James and Minerva were in Hamilton Co TN in 1870, in James Co TN in 1880, and moved to Bradley Co TN about 1896. Minerva Jane Elder was daughter of Robert S. Elder (1812-1868) and Matilda J. Oldham (ca 1828-aft 1870)

James STAFFORD is my grandmothers father, he is buried at Apison Cemt. He died when my grandmother was young. All I know about him is that he was killed in a mine. I don't know if this was a coal mine or what.

Trying to find out about my greatgrandfather Georce C. MOORE born about 1825 in NC. Came to TN around 1850. Married Lucy SWAFFORD around 1858.Had the folg children: Thomas, Nancy, Millie, George, and Martha. Listed in the 1880 census James county dist 9 sheet 32. Lucy died between 1870 and 1880. Anyone please help.

I am searching for any information as to the burial sight of Major Lawson GUTHRIE of the 43rd Tennessee Inf. (CSA) who was also a Mexican War hero from Hamilton County.He was married to Narcissa SMITH and owned a ood deal of land in the Old James County near Bartlebough.Family records indicate his burial as the Smith Family Cemetery on the old SMITH farm.Where is this? Was it moved when Chickamauga lake was built?If so,where to? He left no direct descendants,the couple being childless but the Sons of Confederate Veterans wishes to remark his grave.Any clues would be helpful.

Am trying to locate information on Isaac STOVER, Jeremiah STOVER and families in Old James County. Was told they moved from Marion county to Ocoee to buy land in the 1830's. Ocoee was supposed to be Old James county. This would have been during the Cherokee removal time. Also looking for information on Stover cemetary in James county Tenn....Jeremiah and wife Lucy Ann are supposededly buried there.
