SHOLAR
 Need to find out about any SHOLAR that may have served the Confederacy. SHOLARS are found around the Land Between the Lakes area. They settled in that area around 1802, but we can not find our heritage. Blacks in the area of Cadiz, KY have the name SHOLAR and are presumed to be descendants of former slaves. Any help or even a lead would be appreciated.

 Researching STAFFORD ancestors from Tennessee. Would like to correspond with anyone who has information on the STAFFORD line. I have confirmed information only to my Great-Grandfather -Caleb STAFFORD born 11/11/1858. He married Mahaley BEASLEY (Daughter of Jesse BEASLEY). Children of the marriage were: Howard, William and Herod. Caleb and family left Cato, TN (Trousdale county) in 1905-6 for Callaway county, Missouri. Caleb's death certificate shows his father and mother to be a Samuel and Elizabeth STAFFORD. I have been unable to locate any further information on these 2 people. There appears to be a link to Cane STAFFORD line, but again, I haven't been able to confirm it. Any info appreciated!

I recently ordered some pages on John CRASS. They were submitted by Esther Mazza, Henry Co. Historian in 1988, W.O. INMAN, Ellen MARTIN and Daryl CRASS. I descend from John Crass, Jr. who married Martha WALTON, daughter of Simeon WALTON and Henry. John died before Aug 29th 1851 when a list of John CRASS Sale decd Aug. 29th 1851, found in the transcript of the Henry Co., TN "Wills and Administrations" 1844-1856, part 2, p. 400.  Looking for any info on Eli HUIE, his wife Susan VAUGHN, and their descendants. Eli was b. 1804 prob. in N.C. He came to TN 1834-1839. He and Susan owned land in Henry Co. They had 13 children. Eli served in the Civil War as a confederate. He and a son named Jackson died during the war. Another son, Manoah Richardson HUIE was b. 23 March 1834. His wife was Catherine Louisa CHAPLE b. 26 Sept. 1836 in TN. They married 1856 in Henry Co. Seven known children were John Felix, William, Henry Thomas, Marion, Joseph, Nancy, and Julius. All were born in TN. except Julius who was born in TX. where the family moved in 1876.

 Looking for information on Samual and Jane (Dinwiddie) GILBERT. They married 1 Oct 1807 in Madison Co, KY, but moved at some point to Henry Co, probably with her parents James and Sarah (Helm) Dinwiddie. They died on 13 Nov 1844, and 6 Aug 1844, respectively, and are buried in one of two Dinwiddie cemeteries. I know much more about the Dinwiddies than I do about the GILBERTS. Their daughter Sarah anor Susannah GILBERT, b. 18 Nov 1818, married Peter C LEATH on 25 Dec 1834, had 6 or so children, then he died at some point and she married Jordan P. WARD. sometime before 1846. Their marriage date, or anything about Mr. WARD's family are unknown, but they had 6 more children in TN, before moving to TX. I have a family Bible, probably Jane DINWIDDIE's that has some good information I can share. But mainly I am dying to know more about Samual GILBERT and Jordan WARD!!! Thanks.

After their marriage, they relocated in Missouri first in Clay Co. then to Jackson Co. and finally lived in Cass Co. until April 24, 1853 when They left Missouri by oxen team for California. Henry BUSHART Jr. was the son of Henry BUSHART Sr. and Sarah TROUTMAN of Cabarrus Co, NC. Henry BUSHART, Sr. was the son of Jacob BUSHART, Sr. and Anne FULLENWEIDER. Samuel Anderson BURKE and Henrietta BUSHART had a son, Fonnie Earl BURKE who married Flora Bell FITCH. They were my great-grandparents. Flora FITCH was the daughter of Luther Anderson FITCH and Ada BROWN. Luther Anderson FITCH was the son of David Napoleon FITCH and Susanah LUTHER. He owned land in Anson Co., NC, was married to ELIZABETH RUSHING and they had 4 children: REBECCA b1801, WILLIAM b1802, ABEL b1804, DRUCILLA b1806. After James's death Elizabeth married WILLIAM DEASON and they moved with other family members to Bedford Co., TN. their children's names: JEMIMA, BETTIE, JOHN, JACK, SHIP, BOB. Some of these DEASONS are found in Texas Co., Mo., in 1858 while others are found in Henry Co., TN., in 1859 I would like to hear from anyone who may know where in NC these families originated.
