HOLMES

I am looking for information on my great, great grandfather Council HOLMES (1815 - 1875), who apparently settled in Henderson County in the early 1830's. Council was married to Nancy Jane MANLEY (1815 - 1893), and both were from North Carolina. They are buried at the Old Bethlehem Church Cemetery west of Lexington near the Madison County line. I have all of the basic 19th century census data on the family, but I am trying to determine who Council's parents were and where exactly they lived in North Carolina. Council and Jane had at least ten children and lived near a Moses HOLMES and a Jesse HOLMES, who may have been relatives.
