THE OLD REED CEMETERY

A view of the Reed Cemetery. It is located in the woods behind the Old Reed House. Although the cemetery grounds are well kept, many of the headstones are in bad shape. Age and weathering has taken it's toll of this final resting pl ace of those interred.

At the entrance to the cemetery, someone has taken the time to make a list of those interred, and put the list in a small shelter to protect it from the weather.

The headstone of Ellen Reed, wife of William Reed. William and his brother were the two that spent several months living with the Indians in 1817.
