          My Dear Son [in-law]
                    On yesterday, the
Legislature determined to bring on the
Election of Treasurer for the State, on the
31st inst, being Thursday next - I hear
of no competition for the Office, and
presume I shall be elected unanimously.
My health is very good and has been
since here, abating a cold, which I am
now free from - I wrote to Selina
on yesterday - I shall direct this
letter to Rodgersville - I shall continu
to send papers - May the Lord bless
you.
Jno. R. Henry
