Searching for information on GOTTFRIED (KERCHER) CARRIGER, SR.. A Tennessee Historical
Commission plaque "CARRIGER'S LANDING" now stands in the Hunter Community of
Carter County documenting the CARRIGER family's mark on early Carter County history.
Gottfried and Anna Margaratha Anspach CARRIGER had the following children: Nicholas,
Michael, John, Elizabeth, Godfrey, Jr. and Christian. In 1811 Nicholas and Catherine
CARRIGER and all of their known children moved to Lincoln County, Tennessee. Many of
Nicholas's children later migrated into Greene County, Illinois. Christian and Levicy WARD
CARRIGER had fourteen children, all of whom were born in Carter County. In 1842 Christian
and Levicy and some of the younger children left Carter County and settled in
Independence, Missouri. Nicholas CARRIGER (the son of Christian CARRIGER) became a
selfmade historian having documented the events of the CARRIGER family to become the sixth

in Carter County are: William WARD & ANN VANDERPOOL - Teeter NAVE & Rebecca BOWERS

I am searching for JOHN ROBINSON b. abt 1820 d. bef 1860. He was married to NANCY
WILLIAMS, b. Apr. 27, 1822 , died June 11, 1902. She was the daughter of JOHN WILLIAMS ,
and his wife RUTH. They had a son named JOHN HARLOW ROBINSON, who was married to TABITHA
CAMPBELL. They also had a daughter that was my grandmothers, grandmother. Her name was
NANCY MIRANDA ROBINSON. She was born in 1839, Hawkins, County, TN. SHe died April 16,
1916, @ Corbin, Whitley County, KY. MIRANDA was also known to go by NANCY, her first name.
My grandmother died the day before Christmas eve last. NANCY MIRANDA has been a
"strange bird to track"! Apparently she married ELI HOWELL , March 1, 1856, in
Jefferson County, TN. She & ELI HOWELL apparently had a son, ROBERT HOWELL. The
marriage did not last long [ no divorce has been found to date ]. ROBERT HOWELL was born
abt. 1856. However by Nov. 29, 1858 , in GRAINGER COUNTY, TN., she remarried my G/G
grandad, DUNCAN HASH [1838/40 -1900/10 ], who had just ended a brief marriage himself, in
Whitley Co., KY. ! They are both buried in Corbin, Ky., but even they were seperated in
their last years. I believe Nancy Miranda was hiding her 1st child from his father [ ELI
HOWELL ]. After she moved to Whitley Co., Ky., with her second husband, she is found in
the next county [ Knox Co., KY.} on the 1860 census. They had lived in Grainger COunty,
Tn., in Oct. 1859, when my great grandad, JOHN HASH [1859/1935 ] was born. After 1860, the
Howell child is not found. I believe Eli Howell "collected" his son. A older
brother of my grandmother's was in his 90's when he died. He told me of a trip to the
Morristown , Tn., area as a very young man. There his father introduced him to a
"uncle he had never heard of before"! This uncle was involved in some sort of
wood business. Was this the missing child "Robert Howell"? My great uncle could
not remember any more info about the meeting. NANCY MIRANDA ROBINSON HOWELL HASH went onto
have 11 more children with her 2nd husband, most of which migrated to Eureka, California
in the early 1900's. I am looking for this JOHN & NANCY WILLIAMS ROBINSON family, as
well as ANY info possible about this missing ELI HOWELL, the son, ROBERT HOWELL, and any
thing connected to this enstranged family. PLEASE!!!! If you know anything, or are
connected to this family, PLEASE CONTCT ME!? I will share all I have. STEVEN H. ALSIP,

My father who is now William Joseph Head of Manassas, VA was born with the name William
Joseph Parker in Morristown, TN on 3-1-46. His birth father is William Harrison Parker. I
know very little about him. He was born in Morristown, TN and went by the name Bud. I
think he was born in 1914 and died in the 70's of a heart attack. His father is James
Parker and mother is Bertha Helton Parker. He served in the US Navy in the 40s. He was a
barber. I believe he has sisters and a brother. One sister by name of Pauline. He married
my grandmother, Nora Marie Easley in 1945? They had my dad and my aunt, Barbie. He
remarried and had two boys, Terry and Tony Parker. This is really all I know. I need more
info on his life and his family history. I wish I had a picture of him. I found his grave

RICHARDSON, Charles Ray. My g gf, John (nmn) Richardson was born near Hillsboro, NC on 27
May 1819. He joined the Masonic Lodge in Hillsboro 5 Dec 1842. On 10 April 1843, he took
his demit from the lodge " because he was going to the Western country ". He
came to Jonesboro and worked for the John Blair & Co. who operated stage lines. On 4
July 1846 he married Elizabeth S. Ellis of Church Hill, TN. Elizabeth was dau. of John E.
Ellis 1772-1844 and Nancy Jane Hale 1781- 1837. The Ellises were also in Jefferson County.
John Richardson was associated with the Jonesboro Masonic Lodge. On 10 July 1846 John
purchased two town lots in Russellville. The deed states " John Richardson and Edward
King both of Washington County ". The 1850 census shows John, Elizabeth and Henry,
age 1, in Jefferson County. Presumably, they were living in Russellville. I am trying to
find John's PARENTS. John and Elizabeth ( both could read and write) raised four children
to adults. We do not know the given names of John's parents . His f. b. MD, m. b. NC. per
1900 census. I believe John came to TN ( and probably had relatives in TN) before 1843,
returned to NC to become a Mason and back to TN. He remained a mason all his life. Circa,
1851 they moved to Church Hill to land inherited by Elizabeth and accumulated a lot of
land. John d. 1909 Elizabeth 1899 They had lots of family in Hawkins Co. Would like
information of the Blair stage Co and possible connection to Jefferson Co. Richardsons..
