Thomas ==================================================================== THOMAS CAIN GRAVEYARD Location: Copper Ridge Road, Hamblen County, Tennessee A large monument is located on south side of Copper Ridge Road and is near the barbed wire fence. The inscription is "THOMAS CAIN and wife, IRISH EMIGRANTS SETTLED IN THIS VICINITY ABOUT A. D. 1800. THEY ARE BURIED HERE WITH OTHER MEMBERS OF THEIR FAMILY. A SLAVE OWNER THOMAS CAIN FREED HIS SLAVES. THIS MONUMENT IS ERECTED TO THEIR MEMORY BY M. C. EARLY, GREAT GRANDSON OF THOMAS CAIN AND WIFE. 1935"
