This WEBB family is in the Grundy Co. 1850 Census: Martha, 48, Thomas C 24 (my line), Chesley 20, William E. 18, Jonathan 16, Elizabeth 22, Martha 16,Mary C. (wife of Thomas C.) 20, Delila 2, and Chesley. Is Martha WEBB the widow of Chesley WEBB? They were admitted to Caney Fork Baptist Church in 1828. Who are the parents of Chesley WEBB? Is it Rev. John & Sarah (Byars) WEBB as some researchers believe? Can anyone provide documentation? Any info on this family would be appreciated. I have years of research and family records for most of these people. Will share.

SMITH, ERMIE
Thomas SMITH and Mary ERMIE (not sure of spelling) had at least two daughters. One was Julie SMITH b.1824, the other Nancy SMITH also b. 1824. Julie married Jordan SANDERS b. 1814. Nettie Jane FULTS b 1887 Tracy City, seeking information on her parents (James FULTS b 1854 m Catherine HASKINS) and her grandparents (John Henry FULTS m Sally PLES). John Henry FULTS owned a farm in Cove Valley. Nettie Jane's siblings, all born in Tracy City, are Mary Ann b 1878, Sarah Elizabeth b 1881, Dora Myrtle b 1890, and Commodore b 1884. Nettie Jane and Sarah Elizabeth married brothers, Andrew and James Thomas BEARDEN, in Jefferson, Alabama. I am looking for information concerning W.R. HALL who married Minnie COUNTS, or Minnie COUCH. Their daughter Louella HALL, born 1888, was my grandmother. I am looking for information about Thomas Jefferson MEEKS b. c. 1863, d. 1907 in Oklahoma. His sister, Ellen MEEKS also moved to Oklahoma and lived and died there. Their dad was John W. ''Crip-John'' MEEKS and their mom was Mary ''Polly'' COPE. Their great grandpa was listed with the TN Cherokee agency records pre-Trail of Tears 1800-1838. CLARK'S BRIDGE, SARTAIN
According to court records in 1841, my ancestor James R. SARTAIN lived "on Elk River, four miles above Clark's Bridge." Can anyone tell me the location of Clark's bridge? Does it still exist today? Also, an unimproved road that intersects with Burrows Cove Road, along the Elk River, is named "Red Sartain Road." Does anyone know the origin of that name?

Interested in LEVAN/LeVAN of Grundy/Warren Co. TN & their origins. Benjamin LEVAN b:1775-1782 in ? (probably in PA/VA/NC) recorded land in Warren Co in 1807, on census 810, tax records 1820s, left a will in Grundy co with probate from 1848-1864. He married Fanny A. of SC. LDS lists marriage as 1812 but their first child Jane LEVAN was born ca. 1804. Son James Benjamin LEVAN b. ca 1808 marr. Margaret "Polly" WALKER and lived in Warren until 1844 when it became Grundy Co. After 1850s they were in Marion Co., TN. Any information appreciated. Willing to share.

POSEY
Looking for info on Ben POSEY. In 1844 when Grundy County was organized, the new boundary line for Marion Co. was moved. As a reference point, it says the line runs 600 yards west of Ben POSEY's. I can't find Ben POSEY on any 1830 or 1840 Marion Co census or the 1836 tax list. Does anyone have the Grundy Co. 1840 Census? Does it list POSEY? Your help greatly appreciated.
