WOODS, WOODLEY, TATE
I am seeking information on my gr-great grandmother. Her name was Francis Matilda WOODS or WOODLEE/WOODLEY. She was born 27 Jan 1834 in TN and was the wife of Elisha TATE, son of Davidson TATE. Francis Matilda and Elisha were married ca 1849 and were living in Grundy Co., in 1850, 1860 and 1870. The later moved to Sequatchie Co., where she died 26 Feb 1923 and is buried at Condra Cemetery in Marion County. I know that there were WOODLEEs living in Grundy County, during that time, but not many WOODS. Does anyone know which name is corret for Francis Matilda (Tildy)? My grandfather (her grandson) said the name was WOODLEE, but on the death certificates of some of her children it appears as WOODS. Her mother's first name was Polly, supposedly. Will be happy to exchange information on her descendants.

WAY
I am Looking for any information available on my Mother's family,they were from the Grundy County area. Her father,s name was Charlie WAY and her mother,s name was Eliza Jane GARR. I do know they are buried in a small family cemetery just on the outskirts of Tracey City.I am not sure of the name but I do know that there is a small church located on that same site. Any information available would be greatly apprecated.

MITCHELL
Need help on ancestors of Henry Newton MITCHELL b. 9 Jan 1856 d. 31May 1921. Married Susannah ROBERTS (b. 24 Feb 1863, d. 17 Nov 1942)on 23 Sep 1883. Both lived in Grundy County their entire lives. Children were: Hattie, Mary, Ethel, William, James, Ora and Marvin. Any help appreciated.

BUTNER, JOLLY, BISHOP
Seeking information on any of the BUTNERS of Grundy County. I believe that all of the BUTNERS in Grundy and surrounding counties are descendants of my second great-grandparents, William BUTNER and Julia Ann JOLLY or of his presumed brother, James J. McIntire BUTNER and Effa BISHOP. William and James first appear in TN records in Coffee Co. about 1836. Any BUTNER information appreciated.

I am looking for information on the WOODLEE family from Grundy Co. My grandfather was Carroll Morris WOODLEE Sr His father's name was John WOODLEE and his mother was Martha BOULDIN.
