Martin LANE, buried Giles County, Tennessee (burial location not given) (Abstract of Graves of Revolutionary Patriots, Daughters of the American Revolution, Ref 24) Martin LANE was on the 1812 Giles County Tax List. No pension file has been located for him (apparently never filed) and his record of service has not yet been located (by this editor).

Descendant of Martin Lane. Daughter of A. J. Hood and Elizabeth McEwen, his wife. Granddaughter of David Kerr McEwen and Lydia Lane, his 2nd wife. Gr-granddaughter of Martin Lane and Courtney Seville, his wife. Martin Lane (1755-1825) served as a private in the Revolutionary War; was taken prisoner and sent to Canada. He was born in North Carolina; died in Giles County, Tenn.

Descendant of Martin Lane, as follows: 1. David McEwen Hood (1865-1903) m. 1884 Ada Redus (b. 1868). 2. A. J. Hood (b. 1820) m. 1850 Elizabeth McEwen (b. 1827). 3. David Kerr McEwen m. 2d Lydia Lane. 4. Martin Lane m. Courtney Seville. Martin Lane (1755-1825) served as private in the North Carolina militia, was taken prisoner and sent to Canada. He was born in Halifax County, North Carolina; died in Giles County, Tenn. Also No. 148769.

Moody. Descendant of Martin Lane, Joel Lane and Col. John Hinton, as follows: 1. John Wilson Weatherby (b. 1859) m. 1889 Sarah Baird (b. 1871). 2. William Emberry Baird (1830-97) m. 1856 Martha Elizabeth Gordon (1838-1908). 3. Robert Gordon, Jr. (1807-55), m. 1834 Mary Hinton Lane (1817-81). 4. Thomas Lane (b. 1785) m. Nancy (Lane) (b. 1790). 5. Martin Lane m. Courtney Sevils (Sevills) (parents of Nancy); Joel Lane m. 2nd 1772 Mary Hinton (d. 1795). 6. John Hinton m. Grizelle Kimbrough. Martin Lane (1755-1825) served as a private in the Revolutionary War; was taken prisoner and sent to Canada. He was born in North Carolina; died in Giles County, Tenn. Also No. 76945. Joel Lane (1746-95) was a member of the Provincial Congress of North Carolina, 1775, and, 1782, served in the Legislature. He was born in Halifax County; died in Raleigh, North Carolina. John Hinton was colonel of militia. He served on the Committee of Safety and in the Provincial Congress of Wake County, North Carolina, where, in 1784, he died. Also No. 42573.

Daughter of Thomas Cathey White (1821-67) and Lydia Aurelia Nancy Dyonitia Gordon (b. 1837), his wife, m. 1855. Granddaughter of Thomas Kennedy Gordon (1792-1880) and Elizabeth Lane (1802-63), his wife, m. 1820. Gr-granddaughter of Martin Lane and Courtney Sivils (d. 1860), his wife. Martin Lane (1755-1825) served as a private in the Revolutionary War; was taken prisoner and sent to Canada. He was born in North Carolina; died in Giles County, Tenn. Also No. 55483.
